Detector Cooling
The focus of this Work Package is on the development of new cooling technologies for a more efficient and sustainable thermal management of future detectors. The focus is on two projects: the first explores the use of natural refrigerants to extend the field of operation towards colder evaporation than presently covered by CO2 boiling flows; the second aims at the development of heat transport geometries based on microchannel cooling substrates, which will result in a much wider application of such highly efficient cooling devices.
